2015 Off to a Good Start; Which Brands are the Front Runners for New Vehicle Sales?
The Australian new vehicle sales market ended 2014 with a bang, surpassing industry targets of selling over 1 million new cars in the calendar year.
Fortunately for business, the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing any time soon. According to the latest Roy Morgan Research, it’s presumed that close to 2.24 million people plan to buy a new car in the next four years. The brands paving the way for the economic growth include Subaru and Mazda, the latter most recently responsible for 2014’s second highest selling model, the Mazda3.
The less predictable sales growth coming in is from Subaru. “An additional 65,000 Australians are now in the market for a new Subaru compared to 3 months ago,” said by Roy Morgan Research. A further explanation behind the numbers however was not given.
Despite the positively projected figures, consumer confidence continues to remain relatively stable. With lower petrol prices encouraging bigger purchases, the declining Aussie dollar continues to offset the consumer’s economic outlook of the industry.
It will be interesting to see how the industry treks in upcoming months with petrol drops expected to cease and the Australian dollar anticipated levelling out.
