Earlier this month, Circulation Executive Director of Tan Chong Motor, Mr. Datuk David Chen, shared exciting news regarding the highly anticipated introduction of new Nissan X-Trail model to the Malaysian market. This decision, which is expected to take place later this year, is a likely response to Tan Chong Motor’s exceptional Nissan vehicle sales results throughout 2013. After a 48% rise in Nissan car sales during the 2012-2013 periods, the Japanese car maker is maintaining their popularity amongst Malaysian consumers, with 51,875 Nissan vehicles being sold last year at Tan Chong Motor. In outcome of the high sales volume of Nissan vehicles, Tan Chong Motor achieved their highest annual sales result in 2013.

Having already launched four Nissan new car models this year, the upcoming new model addition of the Nissan X-Trail SUV will mark the fifth Nissan vehicle to be introduced by Tan Chong Motor this year. This move is expected to further complement their sales success, and is likely to contribute to an even stronger 2014 sales result.

Additionally, the highly anticipated introduction of the new model Nissan X-Trail is projected to further boost Nissan car sales for 2014. The Nissan X-Trail joins a group of four new Nissan vehicles – which include the Teana, Sylphy, Livina X-Gear and Note models – that have already been successfully introduced into the Malaysian market earlier this year.

Taking a look at vehicle sales statistics for the entire Asian region, Nissan have exceeded their forecasted results in China, which is one of their largest markets. With an original target growth rate of 10% set for their Asian market, sales in China have more than doubled with an increase of 21% being noted in the July quarter. This jump in sales, which resulted in 283,000 units being sold, can directly be linked to the boost in sales of the X-Trail SUV vehicle.

From the moment the new Nissan X-Trail was first introduced to consumers at a global level, it has fast become a market front-runner in its segment. Leading up to Tan Chong Motor’s Nissan X-Trail launch, let’s take a look at some of the key advanced features that are part of the model.

  • Technology: With a sensor activated technology incorporated into the vehicle, now it is possible to simply wave an object by the sensor for the tailgate to automatically open. The Nissan X-Trail has also been designed to incorporate the most advanced technological elements, which include features such as NissanConnect™ and Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD), both of which are accessible on the Around View® Monitor.
  • Interior: The Nissan X-Trail allows for 18 internal configurations to be made between the cargo and occupant areas of the vehicle through their innovative Divide-N-Hide™system. This system design caters for all your needs by allowing desired customisations to be made quite simply, providing both out-of-sight storage and a lower deck to make room for taller items.
  • Safety: Features such as blind spot and moving object detections, as well as lane departure warnings, provide an extra set of eyes to keep you safe.
